Oct 14, 2011· I have a noisy washer, GE model S2200Y0WW that we purchased at the end of 2001. It is not any noisier when it spins, the noise is constant while agitating, on both regular and gentle. I opened up the top, all the mounts are in place. I did notice that the rear left rod & spring assy is noisy (makes a metallic sound upon manually moving the drum).
In effect, it isn't so much the washer tub is dropping down anymore than usual, but instead, the flooring has been lifted while the machine was moved, hence the contact points, metal filings and grinding noise. Hope this helps. Please post back if it does so others may benefit. Best of luck.
Apr 10, 2018· Yea, usually when you hear it grinding in the washer cycle the problem is like something down in the pump/chopper area, like a seed, toothpick, etc. In the worse case, if you found nothing, your pump/motor bearing may be going bad. So pushing on the top of the door to stop the grinding noise kinda throws me on this.
