This study investigated the application of organo-clay as a support in the synthesis of silver nanoparticles with increased antimicrobial activity – the Ag-montmorillonite nanocomposite (Ag-MMT). This technology is utilized to improve the antibacterial function of materials, especially those used in polymeric nanocomposites. This purpose fulfils the recently increasing public concerns on ...
Silica and montmorillonite-supported silica nanoparticles were prepared via an acid one step sol-gel process. The syn-thesized solids were characterized using XRD, FTIR, TEM and N. 2. adsorption. The effect of preparing temperatures on the structure and properties of the silica nanoparticles were studied. The results show that the increase of ...
So, many Ag-NPs/clays nanocomposites have been developed ( Shameli et al. 2010;Zhang et al. 2013; Praus et al. 2010; Cabal et al. 2010;Huang and Yang 2008), and it was found that the nanoparticles ...
The adsorption capacities of bentonite and montmorillonite nanoparticles at pH = 3 are 4.45 and 3.85 mg/g, respectively. As both of these adsorbents have positive charge in acidic pH and the fluoride anion has negative charge, the removal process increases markedly in acidic pH.
Ag/kaolin nanocomposite was prepared by reduction of Ag + ion with ethanol at alkaline condition on kaolin surface. Nanocomposite was characterized by FTIR, XRD, TEM, and BET methods. Results showed the Ag/kaolin composite has particle size 50 nm. The surface area was increased from kaolin to Ag/kaolin from 1.0215 to 7.409 m2 g−1, .
Nanocrystalline ZnO particles have been prepared with different methods using zinc cyclohexanebutyrate as precursor in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) medium via alkaline hydrolysis. A series of preparations were carried out in the presence of layered silicates (kaolinite and montmorillonite). It was revealed by different measurement techniques that the presence of the clay .
The results indicated intercalation of Ag and Ag 2 CO 3 nanoparticles into the montmorillonite clay layers. The diffuse reflectance spectra exhibited a strong surface plasmon resonance (SPR) adsorption peak in the visible region, resulting from Ag nanoparticles.
In this study, a natural zeolite clinoptilolite-type was impregnated through homogeneous and heterogeneous nucleation with silver nanoparticles. The synthesis of Ag nanoparticles was carried out by chemical reduction of silver nitrate (AgNO3) with sodium borohydride (NaBH4). In the case of homogeneous nucleation, colloidal solution of Ag nanoparticles at concentrations of 1, 2 and 4 parts .

(±1) nm, respectively for clay and Ag/SnO2/clay nanocomposites mode powder. As shown in Fig. 2 the original d-spacing of clay, 3.32Ǻ and 2.34Ǻ of Ag/SnO2/clay nanocomposites 2θ angles (2θ = 26.82° and 38.29Ǻ respectivelly). This value is a direct proof of .
Jan 18, 2016· Perovskite LaFeO3/montmorillonite nanocomposites (LaFeO3/MMT) have been successfully prepared via assembling LaFeO3 nanoparticles on the surface of montmorillonite with citric acid assisted sol ...
In this work, the removal of Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) using aqueous sodium montmorillonite nanoclay in the presence of a cationic surfactant stabiliser was investigated. The effects of experimental parameters on the adsorption process, such as pH, surfactant concentration, adsorbent dosage, initial AgNPs concentration and contact time, were ...
Abstract: The silver nanoparticles supported on aluminum pillared Clay (Ag/Al-B), with Ag content of about 1%, were used for the free catalyzed oxidation of cyclohexene with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The structure of the material was subsequently studied by IR, BET, and X-ray diffraction analysis. The silver supported on aluminium pillared clay ...
Feb 28, 2018· Sorption of heavy metals plays a vital role in controlling environmental pollution. Here, we reviewed the sorption of heavy metals such as Ni, Co, Cu, Zn, V, Pb, Hg, In, As, Cd, Cr, Ga, Cs, Mn, V, Eu, Mo, Th, TI and Cr on metal oxides and clay minerals. The mechanism of association between these ions and the host minerals, and the factors controlling their sorption are discussed in detail.
The adsorption capacity of starch/Na-MMT nanocomposites (10:1, 5:1 and 10:3) was calculated through the equilibrium data from batch adsorption experiments at three pH values (3, 4.5 and 6) in nickel and cobalt solutions. The adsorption curve of Ni (II) and Co (II) ions is presented in Appendix section (see Figures A1 and A2). These curves ...
