Gazetted in August last year, the new mining law, Law N° 58/2018 of 13/08/2018, seeks to promote professionalism and growth of the mining sector while giving a new lease of life to the mine workers whose safety at work has been the cause for concern.
The draft law amends article 146 of the Mining Code to extend the scope of the surface fee (redevance superficiaire), so that it now applies to research permit holders.
